My son has cystic fibrosis, and in spite of that, lives his life as any other normal teenage boy does. He plays soccer, baseball, basketball, and now boxes. As a parent it is sometimes hard to step back and realize that your child can take care of himself; to see that he is growing up. But it also gives me a deep sense of pride, to know that I helped raise him to be independent. I am constantly inspired by my son’s positive, can-do attitude and learn from him every single day.
